Suzanne M. “Sue” Hinkle, 86 passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Sue was born on August 12, 1930 in Indianapolis to the late Herbert and Charlene Magennis. She graduated from Tech High School in 1948 and Butler University with an Elementary Education degree in 1952. While at Butler, Sue met and married Don Hinkle in 1951. Sue taught elementary school in IPS for several years before starting a family. After her family was grown, she worked as the secretary in the Biological Sciences Department at Butler for many years. Sue was extremely devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed cribbage games during Michigan vacations, reading, bowling and bridge clubs, attending her grandson’s sporting events, getting together with “Lunch Bunch” friends from Butler and following the Butler basketball team. Sue is survived by her son Brad Hinkle, daughter Jan (Scott) Neat and grandson Ryan (Brittany) Neat. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Don Hinkle in 2004, her parents, her brother Jim Magennis and her sister and brother-in-law Jane and Jim Kirk.
