Edward W. "Dutch" Ahrendt 77 of Indianapolis passed away at home February 27, 2010. Edward was born in Wabash, IN on May 31, 1932, the son of the late Bud and Martha (Tyner) Ahrendt. He was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a Firefighter with Indianapolis Fire Department for 20 years retiring in 1977. He was a member of Englewood Lodge #715 F&AM. Edward is survive by his wife of 36 years Anna M. (Ellis) Ahrendt, his children Diana Sieg (Gary), Julie Brewer, and Jeffrey Brewer (Kathy), cousin Sue Sutton, three grandchildren; Chuck Sieg, Christopher Brewer and Thomas Brewer, and great grandchildren; Rilie and Kenda Sieg. His parents and one son Steven Ahrendt preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be in Crown Hill Funeral Home at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 4, 2010 where friends may call from 11:00 am. Entombment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House at Riley Hospital or St. Vincent Hospice.
