In loving memory of

Patricia "Pat" G. Shaw
March 7, 1935 - October 22, 2017

Patricia "Pat" Grace (Moran) Shaw was born March 7, 1935 in Muskegon, Michigan, to Ernest Bonaventure Moran and Elizabeth Eunice Mosier. Her parents married on September 25, 1926, but her mother passed away on November 25, 1935, when Patricia was only six months old.

After that her father moved to Pearl Harbor with the Navy. In 1939 her father had a sign painting business in Pearl Harbor when Japan started WWII. Patricia was riding her tricycle when the attack began. For safety, her father brought Patricia back to the US mainland and made arrangements for Patricia to live with Jerome and Viola Davis. While her father was overseas, the Davis family moved with Patricia to a farm in New Mexico. After her father returned to the states they moved back to Muskegon, Michigan to be close to family. Patricia went to St. Mary's School. After school she was a long-distance telephone operator.

On June 27, 1953 she married Jethro Shaw, who was in the United States Air Force. She was a stay at home mother of five children. After 20 years in the Air Force, Jethro retired and returned home. They moved to Shenandoah where Jethro worked at Eaton Transmission for 20 years. After Jethro's second retirement they traveled with Neihart Tours and visited locations such as Newfoundland, Southern California and Prince Edward Island. Their favorite vacation spot was Branson, Missouri where they enjoyed music and shows together.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Jethro, children Erney, Kenny, Gary, Paula and David, as well as their families, including 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Celebration of life graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the Shenandoah Food Pantry or the Turnbull Child Development Center.

"Grandma Shaw always had a way of laughing at herself and I loved that about her, she could say.... hey that was funny, or "ya right" I like to think I got a little of that from her! Although we didn't spend as much time together as I wish, I will always cherish the memories I have and love her for all of the wonderful little things that made her beautiful! My love and deepesteg regards to all who love her and will miss her! She's no longer in pain and is able to be all of herself once again. I find comfort in that."
