Donald Raymond Baldwin, 53, of New London, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Henry County Health Center, Mt. Pleasant. He was born April 15, 1964 in Burlington, the son of Russell Thomas and Luella Eilene Swailes Baldwin. He was a graduate of New London High School and was of the Christian faith. Don worked as a laborer and a janitor. He was a member of the Boy Scouts and enjoyed camping and magazine art. He loved Star Wars; anything with Chuck Norris; the Charlie Daniels Band; and going to Graceland.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Luella and Randy Moore of New London; two sisters, Tina (Gus) Gurevitch of San Francisco, California and Lorie (Bob) Simota, of Grove City, Minnesota; one brother, Mark Horn of Tucson, Arizona; and nieces and nephews.
The Celebration of Life for Mr. Baldwin will be held at 2:00 PM, November 25th at Elliott Chapel, New London. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 until the time of the service. A memorial has been established for New London Fire and Rescue.
