In loving memory of

Mary W Taylor
July 24, 1949 - November 6, 2017

On Monday, November 6th, 2017, Mary Whitlow Taylor ended a year-and-a-half long battle with cancer. She passed in her home in Bothell, WA with her two sons, Bryan and Griffin, at her bedside.

Mary was born in Providence, RI, to Jesse and Mary McKinley Whitlow on July 24th, 1949. After moving to Indiana in 1952, she began her life as a Hoosier in earnest. She went on to attend Indiana University, joining the Pi Beta Phi sorority and graduating with a degree in Fashion Merchandising in 1971. She dedicated the first act of her professional life to fashion, working as a buyer, in sales, in administration, even earning a Nordstrom All-Star award. But she truly excelled as a mother, which she became for the first time on July 15th, 1983 and a second time November 19th, 1984. Her two sons prepared her for the third act of her career as an educator. She worked with students at Inglemoor High School and Kokanee Elementary, providing boys and girls one more positive voice of encouragement and acceptance during their more formative years.

She is survived by her two sons, Bryan and Griffin, and her two sisters, Linda and Sally.

Her service will be held in Kirkland, WA at St. John's Episcopal Church on Wednesday, November 29th, 2017. It will begin at 2:00PM.

We will always carry your memory in our hearts, Mary.

"Mary was a wonderful neighbor and friend. So saddened to hear of her death at such a young age. She had a great smile."
