In loving memory of

Audrie E Buchanan
July 5, 1933 - November 10, 2017

Audrie Elma Buchanan, 84, of Edmonds, Washington passed away peacefully and was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Nov 10th 2017. Audrie was at home and surrounded by her family when she passed.

Audrie was born to Edith and David Pace on July 5th 1933 in New Westminster, British Columbia. Audrie grew up in British Columbia then moved to Northern California to attend Nursing School. She graduated from Nursing School in 1952. She married Stanley James Buchanan of Mount Vernon, Washington in 1958. Together they raised their family in the Puget Sound area. Audrie put her nursing career on hold to focus on her family until they were grown. She later returned to nursing until her retirement from Stevens Memorial Hospital in 1995. She specialized in the care of people with psychological and psychiatric disorders. She was known and loved for her special gift of compassion and her ability to show kindness and empathy to others.

Audrie's passions in life were her dedication to God and her family. She always had a grateful heart and a kind and loving spirit. She never wanted anything for herself, only to give of herself to others. She had a way of making everyone feel special and loved. Audrie's life was truly a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Audrie lived the last twenty years of her life battling Parkinson's disease. Even with the many challenges that Parkinson's presented her; love and care for her family remained her focus. Her husband Stanley was beside her all the way. Stanley was Audrie's primary caregiver and his unyielding commitment to her care allowed Audrie to live comfortably at home until she passed.

Audrie is survived by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, six children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Although Audrie has gone to Heaven, she left us with the legacy of her faith, love and kindness. Audrie is now unseen and unheard but always close to our hearts and peacefully watching over us from above. As her family we will do our best to emulate her beautiful spirit, her faithfulness to God and her lifelong example of selflessness and love.
