"Hi, It is January of 2025. I found a directory address book printed decades ago. It is stained and has many pen markings on and within it. The front cover has long been torn away and has binding staples rusted from long years of being left in a storage box in a damp basement. The booklet I was printed in 1980. It was acquired shortly after I was baptized into the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It has been in my possession long enough. While looking within for an address to mail it from across the globe to someone in Bellevue who might appreciate it I found Something. I found the obituary of a very sweet and kind person who was my neighbor from so many years ago. As a kid we were taught to address adults as Mr. or Mrs. (last name). Mrs. Chernick, along with her whole family behaved as wonderful people. Though gone from us now the good influence and nice memories remain. Thanks Mrs. Chernick for being you. Randy"

Daughter of Raymond L. Sears and Blanche L. (Bier) Sears.
Donna was a descendant of many Oregon Territory pioneers who began their westward migration across America before 1850. Donna's hobbies, since she was a young girl, were family genealogy research and reading. She was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1951. She was born in Corvallis, Oregon and grew up in Springfield/Eugene area of Oregon, with lots of nearby relatives.
After school she traveled and worked in five different states in the west. She married Barry Chernick in February 1966 in Eugene, Oregon. Their first home was in Seattle, Washington. They soon moved to Bellevue, Washington where they lived for 49 years. They raised three sons - Allen, Bryan (Lori) and Darren (Meredith). She had two grandsons, Yakov and Avi (Darren and Meredith).
Donna was preceded in death by her parents. She had two brothers, Jerry and David (deceased).
