Elizabeth Liz Calas
Canton Elizabeth Liz Calas, 85, of Canton, passed away on Thursday March 23, 2017 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born on February 14, 1932, in Peoria, to John and Harriett Tincher Williams. They preceded her in death.
She married Robert Bob Calas on September 7, 1952 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2010.
Surviving are two children, Kim (Kelly) Utsinger of Canton, Nick Calas of Park City Utah, two grandchildren, Chase and Cole Utsinger, one brother Jay (Cindy) Williams Jr, three sisters, Joanne (Dennis) Fulk, Mary (Jack) Pollitt, Carol Sue (Allen) Hamm, and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death is her sister, Harriett (Howard) Zachman.
Liz graduated from Manuel High School in 1950. She became a licensed cosmetologist. She was partner for many years in a fashion dress shop in Canton named Lee Rose. She enjoyed traveling with her husband as well as being with her family. She and Bob maintained a second home in Fort Myers Florida where they made close and lasting friends.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton.
A visitation will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a funeral service on Monday, March 27, 2017, at 11 am, at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Cremation rites will follow the services.
Burial of the ashes will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Canton at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
