Harlen B. Duckwiler
Canton Harlen B. Duckwiler, 88, of Canton, passed away at 11:03 pm, Monday, January 24, 2017 at Graham Hospital in Canton. He was born on March 13, 1928 in Chandlerville, IL. to Leo and Iva (Force) Duckwiler. Harlen married Wilma Anderson on September 11, 1948 in Ashland, IL. She survives along with two children; Thelma Webb of Canton and Melvin L. (Bonnie) Duckwiler of Dunfermline, two brothers; Daniel and Edward both of Chandlerville, two sisters; Janet Landis of Beardstown and Clara Boyd of Wooster, OH, eight grandchildren; Edward Henderson, Michael Clark, Bobbie Gossett, Michelle Clark, Steven Duckwiler, Danny Duckwiler, Melvin Duckwiler Jr, and Marcus Clark and thirteen great-grandchildren. Harlen was preceded in death by his parents, three children; Alan Duckwiler, Dean Duckwiler, and Nancy Clark, one brother, and five sisters.
Harlen worked at Caterpillar as a repairman, retiring in 1981. He was a lifetime member of Black Diamond and a member of the UAW.
Services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton where visitation will be one hour prior to services. The Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton. Memorials can be made to either the Fulton County Humane Society or OSF Healthcare Foundation Student Nursing Program.
