"My deepest sympathy to Gregs family. My 1st husband Gary Smart and Greg were friends. Gary passed away in 1974 at the age of 23. Gary was friends of the Clendenny family. Greg was a great guy. Greg came 1year to duck hunt with Gary and Roger Stanley. They shot their 1st duck before time i think and game warden gave the 3 all tickets. It was a 50 dollar fine. They had a hard time scraping up 150 dollars from everyone they knew. Finally we got the money together so the game warden wouldn't take their guns. We laugh about it now but 43 years ago it wasnt funny. Have alot of great memories with the Clendenny family. Great people. Gregvwas a sweet cheerful guy. He was a handsome dude. Again my deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to all.wish I could have been at the service Saturday. Im sure Gary, Greg and Keith are going duck and deer hunting soon. God bless you all. Linda Smart White. Griggsville Il."

"Sorry to hear about the loss of a gem of a person. Greg had an enormous amount of friends. Memories of him bring smiles to anyone that knew him. Not only was he the Solid Gold Dancer, I always remember the name Crme Puff and he was one of the Turbo Twins at Caterpillar. Going out to the shop while working in the office, he could make the grouchiest, moodiest person smile. His faith in God was strong, and would always say God Love You or God Bless You. He would tell stories of his family with such pride and would say he is the luckiest man ever when talking about his family and friends. He knew no strangers as he made friends with all. What a legacy he has left. He has touched many lives to the people around him. I'm grateful to have known him and I am sure he is making new friends now and partying with old friends that have passed on ahead of him. A great soul, may he rest in peace"
"Five years ago I met a man who would forever change my life. I met the man who for the first time in my life made me feel truly and deeply and passionately loved. He was my joy,my security, my harbour in this stormy scary world. Anyone who knew my Greg, knows and understands these words. I don't know what else to say. There is not enough time or words to explain all of the ways he made me feel like a whole person. I love you Greg. And like I told you yesterday when I held you, rest now my love, my heart is yours take it with you and keep it safe till we are together again. I love you my baby. Your Jamie your Black Widow."
