In loving memory of

Lois E. Wright
December 2, 1922 - May 4, 2016

Lois Wright
Farmington Lois Eleanor Wright, 93, of Farmington passed away peacefully at 12:03 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at Farmington Country Manor.
She was born December 2, 1922, in rural Peoria County, to Arthur and Eleanor (Stewart) Parr. She married Robert N. Wright on March 17, 1945, in Hanna City. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2003.
She is survived by two children: Rollen (Glendale) Wright of Farmington and Janet (Roger) Jackson of Macomb; one sister, Ruth Harding of Hanna City; seven grandchildren: Shannon (Christy) Jackson, Elizabeth Jackson, Ian (Patty) Wright, Brandon Wright, and Heather Wright; and two great-grandchildren, Annie and Josh Wright.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gordon R. Wright; one brother, Merle Parr; and one sister, Myrna Shaw.
A ferocious reader and a passionate learner, Lois graduated from Peoria Manual High School in 1940. Never one to accept barriers in place for women, Lois went on to study Chemistry at Bradley University.
Lois was a dedicated homemaker - she was always prepared to host large gatherings featuring some of the worlds best pies! She was also a talented china painter, crossword puzzle fanatic, diehard Cubs fan (believing until the end that this will be the year!), and exceptional gardener. She was very active in the First Baptist Church in Farmington, and was proud to make a difference in the lives of women through her service in P.E.O.
Above all, Lois will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, and for her steadfast faith in God.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Farmington, with an additional visitation hour at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington.
Memorials in Lois memory may be made to Farmington Rescue 1100, First Baptist Church in Farmington, or to the Farmington Area Public Library for the purpose of purchasing childrens books.

"Rollen, Glendale, and family and Janet and Roger and family, My heart just broke a little bit more. I'll always cherish the memories of the summers over on the Mississippi River. Such good times. Lois always made us feel like we were part of the family, starting back in high school! And then she became Gramma Lois to Jade, and I remember that we always stopped by on Halloween and we would end of staying for quite awhile visiting with her. She was an amazing person and we will miss her! God Bless Lois and God Bless you all! Love, Candy and Jade"
