David Powell
November 27, 1955 - November 25, 2017

David Powell, of Deerbrook, died Saturday, November 25, 2017, at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison. He was 61 years old. He was born on November 27, 1955, in Antigo, a son of the late Donald Powell and Dona (Stuempges) Powell of Deerbrook. He married Jean Ginter September 28, 1996 St. John Lutheran Church in Pickerel. She survives.

He was a graduate of Elcho High School with the class of 1974.

As a young man Dave worked at Antigo Retreaders and was a self-employed logger for 10 years. For eight years he worked at Marplex in Rhinelander, and several other pallet factories in the area. Most recently Dave served the town of Nashville as manager of the waste disposal site.

He played in the old-timers Langlade County baseball league.

Survivors including his wife and mother are a son, Harris Powell of Crandon; two sisters, Dorathy (Gene) Mason of Deerbrook, Dawn (John) Close of Pearson; a brother, Doran Powell of Pearson; three nieces, Melonni (John) Ernst, Natashia Powell, Shania Powell; a great-niece, Alexiya Ernst.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister-in-law, Tina Powell.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday November 30, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Wheeler, Jr. officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
