Jerry M. Dodd
September 2, 1953 - November 27, 2017

Jerry Merle Dodd, son of Clifford Merle and Ada Burch Dodd, was born September 2, 1953 in Shenandoah, Iowa. He passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Azria Health Midtown in Omaha, Nebraska.

Jerry was born handicapped for this reason he lived with his parents in Randolph for many years. He later got his own apartment in Omaha. He attended various different schools, special schools for the handicapped in Nashville and Kansas City. Jerry secretly and to the surprise of his family received his GED on his own.

Jerry worked for Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue and the IRS in Omaha. He loved his work and never missed a day. He has excellent references and recommendations. One such reference came from Nebraska Congresswoman Virginia Smith.

Jerry was dedicated to the Presbyterian Church and later to the Catholic Church.

Jerry loved classical music. He was a bible student and was paraphrasing the bible for fun. He had thousands of pages written. He also was a news junky, he always knew what was going on in the news and would inform the family. He liked watching old fashion good moral movies and reading political books.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Ada Dodd and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include his sister Rebecca Jane Dodd of Randolph, Iowa, numerous cousins and other family.

Celebration of life graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.

Visitation with the family will be held 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home in Shenandoah.
