Robert Bryon Stoops, 76, of Keokuk, died Sunday June 26, 2005 at Keokuk Area Hospital.
Robert Stoops was born October 30, 1928 in Revere, Missouri the son of William Herman and Emma Lue Margurett Sapp Stoops. He married Delores Stark. He worked at Keokuk Electro Metals, Steel Castings as a labor production worker. He enjoyed traveling and attending auctions, buying, trading items and collecting antiques. He was a former member of National Guard.
He is survived by 3 children Dennis Stoops of California, Robin Stoops of Fairfield, Iowa, and Debra Stoops of Oklahoma; one brother Bill Stoops and his wife Josephine of Omaha, Nebraska; 3 sisters Viola Miller of Keokuk, Iowa, Helen Nye of Metamora, Illinois, Margaret Crabtree and her husband James of Pharr, Texas; extended family: Emma Jean and Allaby of Davis City, Iowa. Georgia Myers of Charles City, Iowa, George Ross Jr. and his wife Meg of Fairfax, Virginia, Thomas E. Rossi and his wife Carol of Opelika, Alabama, one uncle Robert Sapp and his wife Mary of Quincy, Illinois; one aunt Nellie Clark of Macdoel, California; 4 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Stoops, and Emma Garcia.
Funeral services were on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at DeJong's Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Davis officiating. Inurnment was in Oakland Sand Cemetery in Vincennes, Iowa.
A memorial has been established.
