Cassie Bauknecht
November 11, 1938 - December 7, 2017

Cassie Bauknecht, of Antigo, died Thursday, December 7, 2017, at home under the care of her family and Aseracare Hospice. She was 79 years old. She was born on November 11, 1938, in Antigo, a daughter of Julius and Catherine (Callahan) Jilek. She married Ronald Bauknecht on June 19, 1963, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1999.

She was a graduate of Holy Cross High School in Merrill.

As a young lady she worked as a nurses aid in Wausau. Cassie was a homemaker for many years. In 1977 she and Ron joined the family farm, Railview Farms, Inc. They retired from farming in 1986.

She was employed for many years at Langlade Memorial Hospital as a cook. She retired in 2000.

She was a lover of cats, enjoyed doing needlepoint and cooking.

Survivors include three sons, Paul Bauknecht of Antigo, Robert Bauknecht and fiancee Peggy Resch, Antigo, David (Julie) Bauknecht, Antigo; three grandchildren Michalie (Travis) Hubbard, Mackenzie (fiancee Danny Nicholson) and Madilyn Bauknecht; two great-grandchildren Kylee and Salem; a sister, Judy Bauknecht, Antigo; a brother, Jack (Pat) Jilek, Antigo.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jackie Bauknecht, a sister, Marge (William) Walters, a brother-in-law, Robert Bauknecht.

The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. David Schmidt officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum.

Visitation will be 3:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9 to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

A parish wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
