Mark Hambleton
May 7, 1957 - December 9, 2017

Mark Alan Hambleton, 60, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am at Corpus Christi Church with Rev. Patrick Behm officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home, with a rosary at 7:30 pm.
Mark is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jane; son Steven Hambleton, and daughter, Jade
Hambleton Bedel (Phil) of Fort Dodge; grandson, Jonathan Bedel; and granddaughter, Emma Bedel;
parents, John and Doris Hambleton of Dayton; brothers, Mitch (Ruth) Hambleton of Dallas Center;
Monte (Kathy) Hambleton of Sugarland, Texas; and Blake (Melissa) Hambleton of Richmond, Texas; and
mother-in-law, Joyce Heddinger. Mark is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and great nieces
and nephews, and his loyal companions, Ruby, Teddy and Dolly.
Mark was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dale Heddinger; niece, Debbie Heddinger; and nephew, Jimmy Buckley.
Mark was born on May 7, 1957. He graduated from Dayton Community School in 1975, and completed
the Elevator and Farm Supply Management program at lowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge
in 1976. Mark was united in marriage to Jane Heddinger in 1986, and the couple established their home
in Fort Dodge. Mark began working at the Dayton Coop in 1974. In 1986, he went to work for Pro Cooperative in Pocahontas. Later he was promoted to Safety Director and Credit Manager. Mark was one of the founding members of the Ag Cooperative Safety Directors of lowa, and served as an officer for many years. He was one of the first in the nation to arrange for his cooperative to donate grain bin
cofferdams to local fire departments for grain bin rescues. Mark was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in
Fort Dodge. Mark loved nothing better than to go camping with his family. He especially enjoyed getting up early and sitting under the awning as the sun came up and the campground started to stir. He was quick to lend a hand to anyone who needed help, and was always ready to crack a joke, even if he was the only one who thought it was funny!
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

It didn't matter how long it had been it had been since we saw each other, Mark made me feel like a lifelong friend as he did with many. A good, humble man.
