Virginia Damon, 87, of Lexington Square in Keokuk, passed from this life, Sunday, April 29, 2007, into the arms of her Lord.

Mrs. Damon was born August 15, 1919. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Emma Chaknine Dickens. She married Charles A. Damon on August 6, 1943, in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 5, 1993.

She was a member of New Testament Christian Church. She loved her family and friends so very much.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Candace Hough and her husband, Harold, of Keokuk; one granddaughter, Mrs. Tammy Pepple and her husband, Terry, of Camby, Indiana; two great grandsons, Joshua and Caleb Pepple of Camby, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, and cousins

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, one great grandchild, two nieces, and one nephew.

Funeral services were at DeJong's Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial was in Keokuk National Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12 noon Wednesday until time of services at DeJong's Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to New Testament Christian Church or to Keokuk Christian Academy.
