In loving memory of

Percy Lyle Morehouse
January 13, 1909 - December 15, 2017

Percy Lyle Morehouse, 108, of Hampton, formerly of Dumont, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at the Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton.  He was born on January 13, 1909, in Bennezette Township, Butler County, Iowa, to Harry and Hazel (Hudson) Morehouse.

Percy attended country schools in rural Aredale.  He was united in marriage to Earla May Jorges on September 7, 1935, in Waverly.  Percy farmed west of Aredale and then built a house in Dumont, when he retired.  He lived there until he was 101.

Percy was a member of the New Hope Parish of the United Methodist Church in Dumont.  He enjoyed playing cards, walking and visiting with family and friends.  Every year for Christmas Percy would fill a waste basket full of apples for his relatives.  They would take an apple and one lucky person would get to keep the waste basket.

Percy is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Hazel, wife Earla, and brothers Lee, Cecil and Verne.

"You were handsome at 108 years old. You were one of the sharpest men. I was proud to call you a relative. You were amazing Percy. You ran life's race and you were strong. You will be missed by many. You have shown us all what is right. You will now be with Earla. You told me how pretty she was when you first met. "
