"I know this is late, but I did not know Sam passed away until today. Sam was my first boyfriend in 1972. We both studied under Tadashi Yamashita at his school in Garden Grove, Ca. I lost touch with him shortly after I received my brown belt. Then in 2001 I found him again and was able to spend time with him at a dojo in Temucula, CA. He will always have a special place in my heart."

"Kim,
I was so sorry to hear about your uncle the other day. It is always so difficult to lose a family memeber. Both of my grandmothers died of the same cause. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time for you and your family.

"Hello, My name is Bill Andrews. I met Sam the first time when he had classes on main street in Keokuk Iowa in the early 70's. I took karate classes for several years. He was a great teacher as well as a great person. Couldn't have ask for better friend as he was to me. He showed me different things about life as well as a teacher. I will miss him dearly. My prayers to your wife and rest of the family.

"I was fortunate enough to get to know Sam during the last 2 years. We met at the local VFW and pretty much became friends right away. We rode many a mile together on our bikes, and when Sam didn't have strength to ride, we went out to eat, or to one of our local hang-outs. We had quite a few visits while he sat at his home, and he showed me most of his memorabilia from his travels through life. I will miss him terribly. Whenever I had to go home, he always said "Thanks for coming Bro, I really appreciate it, come back when ya find time." Now when I do have that free time, I will have this empty hole in my heart. My condolences to his family and other friends. "
