Gordon "Gordy" Lee Huston, 67, of Keokuk, died at 8:40 a.m., Sunday, June 27, 2010 at his home in Keokuk, Iowa.
He was born on August 4, 1942 in Keokuk, Iowa. He was the son of Charles Gordon and Marjorie Eppers Huston. He married Linda LaPolla on February 10, 1963 in Keokuk, Iowa at First Christian Church. She survives.
He was a life long resident of Keokuk, Iowa. He attended two years of college at Keokuk Community College. He owned and operated of the Chuck Wagon Restaurant for 35 years. He later worked for Sutlive Real Estate in sales. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Gordy was a member of the Elks Club #106, Keokuk Masonic Lodge and the Keokuk Yacht Club. He was a member with the KAABA Shrines in Davenport, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Huston of Keokuk; one son, Dr. Craig Huston and his wife, Lula, of Keokuk; one daughter, Joy Kite and her husband, Chris, of Keokuk; six grandchildren, Shelby, Abby, Grace and Jacob Kite and Nicholas and Calla Huston; two sisters, Sharon Cole of De Witt, Iowa and Karen Skinner of Keokuk; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Huston of Keokuk and Janet La Polla of Riverside, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Glen Huston; one sister, Nancy Walters; three brothers-in-law, Paul Skinner, Roger Cole and Mike La Polla.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 1, 2010 at New Testament Christian Church with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial followed in Hickory Grove Cemetery north of Keokuk.
Memorials may be made to Keokuk Yacht Club or Keokuk Elks Club.
