Richard Lee Bilyeu
June 30, 1953 - February 26, 2011

Richard Lee "Rick" Bilyeu was born June 30, 1953 in Algona, oldest of five sons of Leon and Shirley (Cline) Bilyeu. He grew up in Algona graduating from Algona High School in 1972.

Rick was united in marriage to Colleen Treslan on April 11, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked at Universal Manufacturing in Algona for the past 39 years. Rick had a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his boys and family and taking trips. He enjoyed motorcycles and dirt bike racing and was an avid reader.

Rick was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2010. He died Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Kossuth Regional Health Center, Algona following his courageous battle. He was 57.

He is survived by his wife Colleen Bilyeu of Algona; two sons, Jakob and Freddy Bilyeu of Algona; a step-son, David (Scotty) Papach of Mason City; his mother, Shirley Bilyeu of Algona; three brothers, Terry (Shelley) of Algona, Brad (Amy) of State College, PA, and Shannon (Billie) of Forest City; his mother-in-law, Darlene Treslan of Algona; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father on January 9, 2000; and his brother Scott on March 8, 1976.
