"Dear Jeff and family, Mr. and Mrs Downing,I have wanted to leave this for some time but did not know exactly what to say, I knew Paula when I worked as a janitor at Coesse then again meeting here at the CC of the Nazarene, Paula always had a spot in my heart, the last time we spoke was about one month before she went to be with Jesus,it was good to hug her, just know that she is loved and thought of, and that your entire family is prayed for, she is singing in heaven with Jesus. She has won the race and fought the good fight, may we all strive to finish our work on this earth to be in the presence of our Lord."

I'm so sad to hear of your loss and sorry I did not pay my proper respect at her death. May God's presence comfort you and your memories sustain you.Diane Fulk"

"I will miss talking and laughing with Paula about all of the good times that we had in high school. She always made me laugh. She made my kids laugh too...when they would tell her why they were late getting to school or leaving early, she would say, "Yeah, yeah. Your Mom use to make up the same excuses when she was in high school." Thank you Paula for being a good friend. You will be missed!"

I will miss her infectious laugh and giggle. Whenever we would bump into each other in Columbia City she would always greet me with a wonderful smile and a huge genuine hug. "Paula was a sweet gal, always a smile on her face. I got to know her while my daughters, Shannon and Lindsey were in high school. The times when we did get to talk, she was always laughing and had such a bubbly personality. My girls and I really thought a lot of Paula, and she will be a great lost to many people, including staff and children at the high school. Know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers, and I pray that God will give you the strength you need now. Hold on to all those wonderful memories you have, God gives us those for a reason. With deepest sympathy, The Snyders, Laurie, Shannon and Lindsey"

"Paula - My life became so much fuller when you came into it. I had known you for years but when you came to work at the high school I got to know "the real you". I will always remember the laughs and fun we had there. The thing I will remember most is that I think you are one of the strongest women I know. No matter what you were going through you kept going. I will miss you my friend. Love Karen"

"I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Paula. She looked so good that last time I saw her on the last day of school. Paula and I were in the same art class one year in high school. She was a "riot" and I never laughed so hard. She was always getting in trouble for tipping her chair back on the back legs. I don't think anyone could deny seeing the joy and excitement that followed Paula. That art class has been one of my fondest memories of high school. Paula will be forever missed and the high school office will never be the same without her.God Bless you all during your time of need. I hope all goes well with the birth of the baby.Joyce and Terry Hull and family"
