Ralph "Whitie" Paul Huett, age 90, of West Lafayette and formerly of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away at 10:19 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Indiana Veteran's Home.Born November 4, 1922 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Frederick and Irmgard (Stephan) Huett.
He graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1940 and served in the United States Navy from 1943-1945. Ralph's early days were spent working for the Berghoff and Falstaff Breweries and he later worked for the City of Houston, Texas.
Survivors include his 2 daughters, Sylvia (Rick) Weston of Indianapolis; Julie (Eric) Hiltz of Copperhill, TN; son, Paul Huett of Huntington; 3 grandchildren, Bob and Karen Kokovay and Matthew Hiltz. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Norbert.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 9-10:00 a.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will immediately follow calling at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Funeral Celebrant, Sharon Brockhaus, officiating. Burial at the National Cemetery, Marion with military graveside rites by the United States Navy. Memorials may be given in memory of Mr. Huett to the donor's choice of charity.
