In loving memory of

Christine Welcheck
June 10, 1951 - December 20, 2017

Christine Welcheck, age 66 of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away quietly on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. She was born to the late Catherine and Steve Watral on June 10, 1951, in Erie, Pennsylvania and was raised in the town of Edinboro. Christine attended both Northwestern Elementary and High School before attending nursing school. She worked for Edinboro State College, now Edinboro University, before she began working with her late husband, Mark Welcheck. The couple worked together at their meat market, French Creek Valley Meats, before relocating to Sarasota Florida in 1993. Christine and Mark operated Mickey's Meats in Sarasota and later opened AmeriTech Industries.
Christine was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was always supportive of her entire family and was loved by everyone who met her along the way. Hard work and a conviction to strong ethics led her to many job opportunities. It was no surprise when her kind heart, along with her caring and giving spirit, led her to be an in-home caregiver later in life.
Chris, as she was lovingly called by her family and friends, loved to cook and bake for gatherings of family and friends. She found joy in spending time with her two grandsons and spent many hours watching sports, from football to NASCAR. She was gentle soul with a lot of love to share.
She will be deeply missed by her surviving sister, Shirley Watral; her eldest son, Brian Welcheck and his sons, Boston and Banks; her son, Scott Welcheck and his wife Connie; numerous cousins and many friends that she made during her life.
Chris is preceded in her death by her mother and father, Catherine and Steve Watral; her brother, Tom Watral, and her husband, Mark Welcheck.
A Celebration of Chris' life will be held on Sunday, January 7th at the Butterfly Estates in Fort Myers, Florida. It will begin with a butterfly release at 10:30am followed by informal memorial and is located at 1815 Hough St, Fort Myers, FL 33901. A separate memorial will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.

Chris --
Your presence, we will miss
Your memories, we will treasure
We will always love you
And, never forget you.
