Ricky A. "Ringo" Starr, 62, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Friends and family may gather in remembrance of Ricky from 4 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa, Iowa. Cremation rites will be accorded following the gathering.

Ricky Allen Starr was born on March 3, 1955 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Earl Rupert and Ione May (Carr) Starr. He grew up in Maquoketa and then attended high school in DeWitt. He married Debra Good on July 28, 1973 in DeWitt, Iowa. To this union four children were born: Jennifer, Heather, Ashley and Jolene. Ricky and Debra later divorced. On January 19, 1999 he married Pamela Miller Robinson in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Ricky had worked various jobs throughout his life. He first drove truck for Thomas Pressley in the Quad Cities for four years. He then worked at General Thermo Dynamics in Maquoketa as a supervisor for five years and later for Kelly Radiator in Cedar Rapids and John Wagener Ford in Maquoketa. Additionally, he had worked at Red Jacket for nine years and lastly for O'Reilly Auto Parts in Maquoketa for two years. For many years he has owned and operated RAS Auto in Maquoketa.

Ricky enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, going to the casino, mushrooming, and going out to eat with family and friends. He especially loved drinking coffee.

Those left to honor Ricky's memory include his wife Pam Starr of Maquoketa, IA; children, Jennifer (Chris) Ellis of Lost Nation, IA, Heather (Chad) Niec of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ashley (Sean) Reiter of Maquoketa, IA, and Jolene Starr of Lost Nation, IA; step-children, RJ Robinson of Maquoketa, IA, Steve Robinson of Princeton, IL, and Nikki Robinson of Maquoketa, IA; 14 grandchildren, Matthias, Theron, William, Liberty, Leia, Lane, Alexys, Keira, Breanna, Dillan, Cadyn, Eidyn, Aiden, Alya; 2 great-grandchildren, Azlyn and Samarah; a brother, Randy Starr of Grand Mound, IA; and sisters, Carol (Mike) Evans of Maquoketa, IA, Dona Rawlins of DeWitt, IA, Glenda Richards of Indianola, IA, and Judy Marvin of East Moline, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, uncles Frank Starr and Carl McNamee, a niece Lisa Yarolem, a nephew Ryan, and a great-nephew Travis.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Ricky A. "Ringo" Starr memorial fund has been established.

"Geez! my adopted family is getting smaller. I'm not sure how many years i've known Rick. but that is minor.. I remember when he first started calling me mom, thats when i started baking cookies,homemade bread, cooking meals and took to his garage to eat.I had just had Nate take them in bean soup for their dinner. yes my adopted son i will miss our Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter dinner together .or just drinking coffee.
