Shirley A. Knapp, 67 of Rhinelander died peacefully in the care of her family and Ministry Hospice on December 21, 2006 at her home. She was born September 18, 1939 in Shawano County to the late Charles and Leavona Bierman. She married John Knapp-
On August 2, 1975 at Peace Lutheran Church, Antigo----he survives.
She attended school in Bowler.
She was employed at Wisconsin Timber & Land Company in Mattoon and as a home health care provider after moving to the Rhinelander area in 1976.
She enjoyed reading and taking walks with her grandchildren.
Survivors in addition to her husband include 2 daughters, Cindy (Randy) Engelhardt, Clintonville, WI and Royola (David) Wenz, Morginton, North Carolina, 1 son, John (Beth) Knapp, Rhinelander, WI, 4 grandchildren, Craig, Nicole, Trevor and Emma. Sisters, Mildred Chroge, Mattoon, WI, Myrtle(Garret) Bork, Shawano, Marceedias Chroge, Shawano, WI. , two brothers Allen (Mary) Bierman, Elton, and Russell Bierman, Phillips. Brother in law, Tom (Paula) Knapp, Rhinelander, WI a sister-in-law Doris(John )Larsen, Wausau. Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law , Ed and Bernice Knapp, a grandson, Jeffery Engelhardt, two sisters and four brothers
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Bradley Funeral Home, Hwy 45, Antigo. Rev Jeff Shearier will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM Saturday until 11:00 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Antigo, WI
