Arnold Benes
December 3, 1936 - February 21, 2007

Arnold Benes of Deerbrook died at home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice on Wednesday February 21, 2007 at the age of 70. Born to Anton and Theresa (Parizek) Benes Sr. on December 3, 1936 in Antigo, he married Joyce Condella on August 12, 1961 at St.Wencel Catholic Church in Neva, she survives.
He attended Little Chicago Grade School and graduated from Antigo High School in 1954.

As a young man he worked at Matteks Implement Dealership in Neva until 1967. He then began employment at Lockwood Graders in Antigo until the company closed. He worked as sales and marketing manager for ACME Manufacturing Company retiring in 2000.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved the challenge of the annual nine day gun deer hunt, rolling out a tight cast on a secluded trout stream, and chewing up timber with his power saw. His other hobbies included woodworking in his basement wood shop, camping at Weaver's Resort on Pelican Lake, and helping friends and family when they needed a friendly hand.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Joyce.
Three daughters Kathleen (James) Rauhut of North Fond du Lac, Pamela (Paul) Ekis of Omro, Debra Edelman of Green Bay. One son Timothy (Sara) Benes of Black Creek. Six grandchildren Ashley, Kassie, Cody, Carson, Eric, and Ian. One Brother Anton "Butch" (Sally) Benes Jr. of Antigo, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 24, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home, with Rev. Omer Kelley officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. all at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Neva Cemetery.
