George C. Kautza
November 30, 1919 - April 10, 2007

George C. Kautza, age 87, of Antigo died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Antigo. He was born November 30, 1919 in Phlox, WI to the late Charles and Loretta (Arnold) Kautza. On September 19, 1940 he and the former Hilma Klopstein were married in Wausau. She survives.
Mr. Kautza is a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Antigo.
He owned and operated a dairy farm, had a milk route, drove gravel trucks and worked in a saw mill prior to 1950 when he worked for Henry Kramer Construction, Wausau, where he learned the construction trade. In 1957 he started George Kautza General Contractor which later became Kautza Builders and Excavating.
He enjoys woodworking and making furniture.
In addition to his wife, Hilma, Mr. Kautza is survived by two daughters

Lee Ann Menting, Antigo
Two sons
Jack (Judy) Kautza, Birnamwood
David (Diane) Kautza, Antigo
12 grandchildren and four step grandchildren
17 great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren
One great great grandchild and one step great great grandchild

Mr. Kautza was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Betty Jane Kautza and Ethel Ashbrenner, a brother Edwin Kautza and a granddaughter Christine Kautza and a grandson Dallas Borneman

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at Peace Lutheran Church, Antigo. Rev. Scott Kruse will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:30 PM to 8:00 pm at Bradley Funeral Home, Hwy 45, Antigo and at Peace Lutheran Church on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 am
