William Willy Baumeier, 37, of Gladbrook, IA passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church, in Gladbrook. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at the Gladbrook United Methodist Church. Willy was born July 10, 1976 to Steven and Jerri (Matney) Baumeier in Marshalltown, IA. He graduated from Gladbrook Reinbeck High School in 1994. Willy was united in marriage to Jill Collins on May 24, 2006, in Toledo, IA. In his earlier years of employment Willy proudly worked for his dad at S.L. Baumeier Co. in Gladbrook. He was employed as a locomotive engineer with Union Pacific Railroad since 2001. Willy was a member of the United Transportation Union Local 329. He loved his job and those he worked with. Willy was a former member of the Gladbrook Fire Department. He enjoyed trucking and field work with his best friend Nyle. He was always there to lend a hand to any friend, and he considered everyone a friend. He was a favorite to many, especially his nieces and nephews and the numerous young people in his kids' lives. His greatest joy was that of his own family and kids.
Willy will be missed by his wife, Jill of Liscomb; parents, Steve and Jerri Baumeier of Gladbrook; four children: Brenna Klar of Cedar Falls, Matt Klar of Gladbrook, Jade Foos of Marshalltown, Brittany Foos of Liscomb; grandmother, Delores Matney of Gladbrook; a sister, Jennifer (Brian) Fuhs of Lewiston, ID; a sister in law, Theresa Juhl of Iowa City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother David.
