Donald Fraley
June 18, 1915 - April 23, 2007

Donald Roy Fraley, longtime Antigo businessman died Monday April 23, 2007 at Langlade Memorial Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice; he was 91. He was born June 18, 1915 in Elton to Bandy and Bettie (Palmer) Fraley. On March 6, 1943 he married Carolyn Lackermann, she survives.

At the age of ten he began working on cars and at age seventeen started his long career in the automobile business with Eva Jewell Motor Sales. He opened the Antigo Body and Fender Shop in 1943. Mr. Fraley was the local dealer for GMC Trucks, Studebaker automobiles and became the authorized Buick dealer for Antigo in 1945. He operated the Buick dealership as Don Fraley Motor Company for 35 years, retiring in 1979. After retirement Mr. Fraley rebuilt several Model T cars at his home. As a young man he enjoyed riding and working on Harley Davidson motorcycles. He also enjoyed attending the Iola Car show and traveling.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn, two sons Palmer "Pete" (Rosalie) Fraley of Flushing, Michigan and Michael Fraley of Denver, Colorado. One daughter Sally (Gerald) Sommers of Plover. Eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Vernie Law, Dulcia McCandless, and Betty Wall. One brother Palmer "Pete" G. Fraley and four half brothers Charles, William, Lee and Brack Gillespie.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday 11:00 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home Antigo, with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A memorial is being established for All Saints Catholic School Fund. Online condolences at www.bradleyfh.com.
