"I just want all of Shannon's family to know that I am praying for each and every one of you to have the comfort and peace that God can provide you at this time. You lost a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a companion, an aunt and a sister-in-law and I know that the days ahead will be hard to bear. Just feel the joy knowing that Shannon is in the presence of God and she will live a life of eternity. We all need to know Jesus in our hearts to be there with her one day. All of Shannon's friends lost a beautiful, funny, kind person with a contagious laugh. We all feel like our lives are so much brighter having known her . I continued to keep in touch with Shannon through her battle with cancer and giving her encouragement, strength, faith, trust and HOPE in Jesus Christ. We shared a lot of conversation and prayer about her illness and we laughed and we cried, but we always ended the conversation upbeat with a laugh and an "I love you." I will miss my sweet friend so much and miss hearing her voice, but I am so happy to know I will be with her again one day...so until then, enjoy the beautiful life in heaven with no pain and I will see you soon, my friend. Love, "Darween""

"Many of the best times at work was when Shannon told stories about her children and those grand children I truly envied her life but was even happier for her because it shined, love truly shined of love of her family, from dad to mom to sis to you and Jake and them grand babies, you all shined so bright in her eyes as she told the stories and laughed and sometimes laughed until tears came. She loved sharing so many fond memories, we all couldn't wait to hear her stories. Many times the stories would get interrupted between call's from CITI bank customers. Shannon 1 good story telling Angel now for sure....Thanks for the memories and kind hearted precious soul that you are. Heaven will be glad to have you, as we were here on earth to have spent time with you.. Much respect to you miss Shannon, and for your time with all of us~~~ "

"I'm so sorry to see Shannon in the obituary here in Portsmouth, VA. My heart goes out to all of her family. I have very fond memories of fellowship with the family, particularly in the 1970s, and especially birthday parties and our great trip to Disney World in 1973. Two car loads of friends having a great adventure. I greatly value the phone conversation and prayer I had with Shannon recently in the first half of March. I remembered her birthday is March 23 and sent a birthday card later. I'm so glad I saw Barbara in a restaurant and she gave me Shannon's number. God bless all of Shannon's family with the Peace of Jesus the Prince of Peace. "
