Helen Strube
April 15, 1917 - July 8, 2007

Helen A. Strube, longtime Antigo resident, died Sunday July 8, 2007 surrounded by her family at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was 90 years old. Born April 15, 1917 in Shawano County to Wenzel and Mary (Cherny) Steffek. She moved to Langlade County as a child where she attended Elmhurst and Sunnyside grade schools then Antigo High School. She married Emmett G. Strube on Aug. 26, 1939 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1986.
Mrs. Strube was a member of St. John Catholic Church, its Christian Mothers and Altar Society. She volunteered with the Langlade Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of the Langlade County Senior Citizens Club and volunteered at their Craft Shop.
Survivors include two daughters Marilyn Rueger of Oshkosh, Joanne (Dale) Braunel of Wausau, three sons Gary (Diane) Strube of Hortonville, Jim (Gail) Strube of Darboy and Ron (Barb) Strube of Eau Claire, two sisters Sylvia Resch and Margaret Bauknecht both of Antigo, one brother Edward Steffek of Clintonville, 19 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter Connie Boelter in 2006, one grandson Tom Boelter, one granddaughter Donna Rueger in infancy, one brother George Steffek.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to All Saints Catholic School Fund or charity of donor's choice.
