"What a sad day - Ms. Cain (aka Sarge) was my most favorite teacher and probably the most fun person I had the honor to work with in my most formative years. May you find joy and happiness in the lords hands."
A very special marine passed away tonight at 5:00 p.m.
A salute to Lodoen Purdy Cain who died of natural causes tonight at the age of 89. I know some of you knew her as Mrs. Cain from Totem Jr. High. She was no ordinary teacher, if you came to class thinking you were going to be "average", you probably soon found out this teacher was a game changer. And some have expressed to me she was also a life changer as well.
Below is in honor of a special woman and mentor of many.
Thank you Lodoen for contributing to society, your service to our country as well. Your soul is at rest, your intellect lives on through those you graciously taught.
(Salute!!)
God bless you Lodoen,
From all of your family, we love you.

"I had her as a teacher in junior high in the late seventies, can still remember the way she was in the class room. One great teacher. "
"She was one of those teachers that you wish there were a thousand more of. As a 9th grade kid, I didn't look forward to many classes, but hers was definitely one of them. She brought classic literature to life for me, and to this day I am grateful for it. I left her class a better person. May she rest in peace."
