Vernetta Tommie Wickersheim of Kenosha died Tuesday May 13, 2008 in Kenosha. She was 91 years old. Born March 25, 1917 in Sparta to the late Marion and Florence (Balch) Prentice, she married Percy Wickersheim on September 4, 1937. He preceded in death on Feb. 15, 1962.
After marriage she and her husband lived in Lake County IL. In 1943 they moved to Polar and operated a dairy farm until 1948 when they returned to Il. Mrs. Wickersheim worked at John Mansville as a punch press operator and retired in 1960. She moved to Kenosha in 2000 and enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
Survivors include her daughter Beverly (Jerrold Sr.) Jepson, Friendship, two sons Terry (Pamela) Wickersheim, Zion, Il, William (Linda) Wickersheim, Zion, Il; 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, five brothers, three sisters and one grandson David Wickersheim.
Services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place in Elton Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
