Mary Nickell
February 9, 1917 - October 30, 2008

Mary Nickell, longtime White Lake resident, died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Rosalia Gardens in Antigo under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 91 years old. Born February 9, 1917 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Mary (Zeleznik) Vodnik. She married Eugene Nickell on June 24, 1939 in Valparaiso Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 29, 1985

She lived in Bourbonnais IL, where she farmed with her husband. They moved to White Lake in 1977.

She enjoyed traveling, quilting, crocheting and ceramics.

Survivors include two sisters in law, Georgetta Vodnik, Oak Forest, IL, Lucille Vodnik, Calumet City, IL, one niece, Linda (Thomas) Charley, Bradley, IL, three nephews, Robert (Sarah) Vodnik, Oak Forest, IL, James (Diana) Vodnik, Omaha, NE, William (Susan) Vodnik, Downers Grove, IL, and her good friend, Mary Fairchild, Appleton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband two brothers Frank and Sylvester Vodnik.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at Hope Presbyterian Church in White Lake with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place in Kankakee Memorial Gardens, IL. Visitation will be 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
