Gene Knight, of Antigo, died Saturday, November 1, 2008. He was 41 years old. Born October 24, 1967 in Antigo, to the late Edward Knight who preceded him in death in 2002 and his mother Sharon (Rennpferd) Knight who survives.
He attended Antigo High School and worked for Ford Motor Company in Antigo, Rhinelander, and Merrill. He was a skilled welder having worked at Innovative Industries, Antigo and Agra Industries in Merrill. He was a volunteer on the Rural Fire Control for 15 years, having earned firefighter of the year in 1998
He enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles, computer gaming, working on cars and spending time with his children and nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his mother and one daughter, Nicole Knight, Rhinelander, one son, Shane Alan Knight, Rhinelander, three sisters, Lynn (Jamie) Czerneski, Antigo, Katrina (Lance) Low, Antigo, Theresa Isaac, Anchorage, AK, one brother, Shane (Sherry) Wurtinger, Merrill, nieces and nephews, Deakin, Jenna, Sexton, Jordan, Delby, Kendra, Dustin and Kayla, and his best friend Rick Schmit of Antigo.
Including his father he was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his Aunt Elaine Wurtinger.
Services will be held on Wednesday November 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Kate Kraft officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and at the church on Wed. from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
