Nancy McLaughlin
November 5, 1931 - November 10, 2008

Nancy , of River Falls, died Monday, November 10, 2008 at St. Mary Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was 77 years old. Born November 5, 1931 in Chippewa Falls to Floyd and Madeline (Anderson) Wells. She married James McLaughlin on June 28, 1952 at River Falls. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1996.

She graduated from Chippewa Falls High School in 1949 and attended Wisconsin State University at River Falls. Following her husbands teaching career the couple lived in Siren and moved to Antigo in 1954 where they raised their family. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and enjoyed playing bridge, painting and bird watching. Several of her wildlife paintings adorn the walls of family member homes. Following her husbands death in 1996 Mrs. McLaughlin returned to River Falls. She enjoyed traveling and last year spent a month touring Italy. She had a passion for politics and her beloved Green Bay Packers. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon (Craig) DeWald, Lakeville, MN, Jane (Sam) Drodofsky, Spicer, MN, Lynn (Byron) Clercx, Huntington, WV, three sons, Daniel (Sharon) McLaughlin, Chippewa Falls, John Patrick (Leslie) McLaughlin, New Prague, MN, James D. (Jody) McLaughlin, Merrill, two brothers, Jim Wells and Andre (Marilyn) Wells, all of Chippewa Falls, 16 grandchildren, Katie (Kevin) Guay, Patty Martin, Christopher (Jen) Sell, Jon Sell, Kelly, Erin, & Bridget McLaughlin, Michelle, Eric & Alex DeWald, Brianna & James J. McLaughlin, James P. & Meghan McLaughlin, Max & Daniel Drodofsky, four great-grandchildren, Jack, Victoria, Gracie & Layla.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, two brothers Clifford and Floyd, one sister Winnie Domer and daughter in law Mary McLaughlin.

Services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church, with Fr. Mike Betley officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:30 - 7:00 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and on Friday from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Parish wake service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the James McLaughlin Scholarship Fund in Antigo or the University of Wisconsin River Falls Foundation directed to the McLaughlin Scholarship Fund.
