Jean Van Alstine
September 11, 1917 - November 20, 2008

Jean Van Alstine of Post Lake, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 91 years old. Born September 11, 1917 in Nebraska to Glen and Lois (Starbuck) Fennel. She married Cassius Van Alstine on May 4, 1940 in Appleton. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1998.

She moved to Appleton as a child and graduated from Appleton High School. After marriage she moved to Merrill then to Brown Deer. She worked as head cook at Brown Deer High School before moving to Dundee where she and her husband owned and operated the Cash's Kettle Aire Supper Club. Mrs. Van Alstine retired and moved to Post Lake in 1976. She was a member Arbutus Lutheran Church, the Order of The Eastern Star, and enjoyed golfing, playing cribbage and spending time on Post Lake.

Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Kasseckert, Kewaskum, one son, Rodney (Carol) Van Alstine, Elcho, four grandchildren, Bradley (Tonya) Kasseckert, Superior, Wade Van Alstine, Appleton, Kimberley (E.J.) Adams, West Bend, Shelley (Mike) Melzer, Allenton, ten great-grandchildren, C.J., Raven and Shelby Kasseckert, Drew and Dylan Van Alstine, Kennedy and Morgan Adams, Sam, Max and Emily Melzer.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, three sisters.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Bradley Funeral Home is assisting the family.
