Elizabeth Betty O'Brien

Elizabeth Betty O'Brien, of Antigo, died Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 88 years old.
Born April 7, 1920 in Antigo to the late Frank and Irene (McKenna) Brecklin. She married Dennis O'Brien on June 26, 1946 at St. John Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 20,1988

She was a member St. John Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers & Altar Society and the Neffs Switch Women's Club. In 1938 she graduated from Antigo High School. Following marriage, she and her husband farmed in the Town of Antigo. She was employed at Langlade Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1985. In her retirement she was a member of the Langlade Hospital Auxiliary, volunteered at St. John Catholic Church and the Department On Aging. She enjoyed reading.

Survivors include her 3 daughters, Mary (Robert) Van Grunsven Green Bay, Kathleen O'Brien Madison, Janice O'Brien Chicago; 3 sons, David (Pam) O'Brien Marinette, Michael O'Brien Antigo, Charles O'Brien Green Bay; 3 sister-in-law, Margaret Brecklin Antigo, Maxine Golbach Madison, Lorraine O'Brien Bryant; brother-in-law, Ray Lee Arlington, Tex; 7 grandchildren, Matt and Mike Van Grunsven, Jon Gilbertson, Patrick, Megan, Christopher, and Caitlin O'Brien.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, an infant son Francis, two sisters Elaine Johnson and Marguerite Lee, two brothers James Brecklin and Charles Brecklin

Services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 10:00 a .m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Charles Hoffmann, officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Mausoleum. Visitation will be Saturday, December 6 at St. John Catholic Church from 8:30 to 10am.
