Evelyn Drexler

Evelyn Drexler, longtime Antigo resident, died Friday, December 12, 2008 in Wisconsin Rapids. She was 95 years old. Born July 31, 1913 in Antigo, to Jule and Alvina (Wood) Belott.

She married Arnold Wierschke in 1931 in Antigo, he preceded her in death in 1949. On December 27, 1955 she married Joseph Drexler at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo, he preceded her in death in 1996. She attended Polar grade School. Mrs Drexler worked at the Antigo Hotel, Uneeda Lunch, the Edge of Night Hotel and retired at age 62. She enjoyed playing cards and embroidery. She is a member of St. John Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Bettack, Wisconsin Rapids, one son, Bob (Connie) Wierschke, Antigo, one step daughter, Mary (Bob) Valentine, Yakima, WA, one step son, Frank Drexler, Kentucky, one son in law Gil Servi, Antigo, 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, two daughters Rose Servi, and Ilean Wierschke in infancy, one son Billy Wierschke, one son in law Gene Bettack, her parents, five brothers and four sisters.

Services will be held on December 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Antigo Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:30 - 7:00 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with the parish wake service at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will also be on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
