Dorothy Svaton
July 20, 1922 - December 26, 2008

Dorothy Svaton, of Antigo, died Friday, December 26, 2008 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 86 years old. She was born July 20, 1922 in Antigo to August and Anna (Klatt) Laabs. She married Gerald Svaton on June 20, 1942 in Hinsdale, IL. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1988.

She graduated from Antigo High School in 1940.

Mrs. Svaton worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney in Antigo, tied flies for Sheldon's Inc. for many years and worked at the Antigo Bakery. She was a member of the Sew 'n Sew club. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, gardening and baking.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Svaton, Antigo, Larry (Pat) Svaton, Stevens Point, Thomas Svaton, Antigo, three grandchildren, Patrizia Rodriguez, Carrie (Karl) Fry, Kelly Svaton, four great grandchildren Audrey and Taylor Rodriguez, Brayden and Belah Fry.

Including her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson Michael Svaton, one daughter-in-law Monika Svaton, two sisters Alice Laabs and Alvina (Rudy) Doucha and one brother William Laabs, two sisters-in-law Rose Clifton and Millie O'Neil.

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 3:30 - 7:00 p.m and on Wednesday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.
