Roman Gutowski
December 16, 1929 - January 10, 2009

Roman Gutowski, of Pickerel, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at his home. He was 79 years old. He was born Dec. 16, 1929 in Pulaski, to Alex and Frances Gutowski and married Roberta Hawkins on August 17, 1949 in Green Bay.
She preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 2007.

He served in the United States Army. He lived in Green Bay for many years and worked as a truck driver for Leights Transfer and Storage for 30 years. In 1997 he retired to the Pickerel. He was a member, lector, usher and communion distributor at St. Mary Catholic Church in Pickerel.

Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie MacLellan, Solin Springs, Ardus (Gerald) DuBois, Sturgeon Bay, Lisa (Jim Gonzales) Gutowski, Sturgeon Bay, two sons, Mark (Julie) Gutowski, Howard, Paul (Julie) Gutowski, DePere, one daughter in law, Elaine Gutowski, Green Bay, 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, five brothers Harry, Tony, Wally, John, and Richard.

He was preceded in death by his wife and three sons Ralph, Edward, Dale and brothers and sisters.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Noon at St. Bernards Catholic Church, Green Bay with Rev. Dave Pleier officiating. Burial will take place in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wed. at the church from 10:30 - 12:00.
