Harry Gleich
January 31, 1916 - January 19, 2009

Harry Gleich, of Deerbrook, died Monday, January 19, 2009 at Care Partners under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 92 years old. He was born January 31, 1916 in Deerbrook, to William and Justina (Denk) Gleich. He married Bertha Kunik on May 29, 1942 in Oconto Falls. She survives.

Mr. Gleich was born and raised on the family dairy farm where he farmed with his father, and later with his son. The farm is now owned by the the third and fourth Gleich generations and will celebrate a Century of family ownership in 2009. He attended Little Chicago and Deerbrook grade schools. He is past president and director of the Langlade Farmers Co-op board of directors, and Antigo Milk Products board of dirctors. He was co-founder of Langlade County Breeders Assoc.(Badger Breeders) and served on the sire selection committee. He also served on the board of the Langalde County Dairy Herd Improvement Association, the Langlade County Dairy Promotions Committee and the American Jersey Cattle Association. He was a Langlade County 4-H leader and board president, and served as clerk of Little Chicago School district. He played drums in the Al Wagner polka band and enjoyed square dancing.

Survivors including his wife Bertha are one son, Gerald (Becky) Gleich, Deerbrook, one sister, Emily Klapste, Antigo, one brother, Emil Pete Gleich, Nicholasville, KY, four grandchildren, Ann (Randy) Krueger, Merrill, Tom (Jean) Gleich, Merrill, Molly (Tim) Photenhaur, Merrill, Rachel (Donald) Schroeder, Deerbrook, three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter Dawn in infancy, one sister Rosie Cahak,

Visitation will be 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bradley Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Neva Cemetery following a private family service. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
