Alfred Boettcher
April 10, 1925 - January 28, 2009

Alfred Al Boettcher, of Antigo, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center at the age of 83. He was born April 10, 1925 in Town of Antigo, to Frank and Ruth (Duernberger) Boettcher and married Gladys Fischer on June 22, 1946 at St. John Catholic Church. She survives.

He graduated from Antigo High School in 1943. Mr. Boettcher was employed with the Langlade County Highway Department for 35 years retiring in 1987. A longtime member of St. John Catholic Church, he served as a boy scout leader, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.

Survivors including his wife Gladys, are one son, Thomas (Barbara) Boettcher, Crivitz, one daughter, Mary Ann Boettcher, Antigo, one sister, Marjorie (Dean) Faulks, Minneapolis, MN, three grandchildren, Jeromey (Susan) Boettcher, Menasha, Andrew (Kathryn) Boettcher, Shawano, Kerri (George) Samson, Seymour, and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Marion Hitz.

Services will be held on Saturday January 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 3:30 - 7:00 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with a parish wake service at 4:00 p.m. Visitation on Saturday at the funeral home will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
A memorial is being established in Al's name.
