Raeburn DeHart
August 29, 1929 - January 29, 2009

Raeburn Pete DeHart, of Elton, died Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 79 years old. Born August 29, 1929 in Elton, to Walter and Elizabeth (Bailey) Robinson and she married Emil DeHart on March 23, 1946 in Elton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 2007.

Following marriage she and her husband farmed in Elton, then moved to Kenosha where they lived for 20 years returning to Elton in 1976. She and her husband operated a Bed & Breakfast, campground, and horse drawn tours for 10 years. She was instrumental in starting Elton Days, and was active in the Elton School Restoration project. She was a pioneer in kidney transplant surgery being one of the first recipients of a family member donated kidney. She was forever grateful to her sister Carol for that gift. She was very artistic and enjoyed writing poetry, skiing, hunting, fishing, hiking and reading.

Survivors include four daughters, Sandra Rowley, Elton, Charlene (Ray) Sinkler, Kenosha, Pamela (Vaughn) Powell, Kenosha, Paula DeHart, White Lake, four sons, Allen (Marla) DeHart, CO, Mike DeHart, Pearson, Gary (Barbara) DeHart, Kenosha, Charles DeHart, White Lake, five sisters, Carol Guthrie, White Lake, Mary Messer, Antigo, Glenna Robisnson, White Lake, Karen (Edward) Sellers, White Lake, Gail (Dean) Lewis, Elton, three brothers, Ralph (Virginia) Robinson, Polar, Larry (Connie) Robinson, Elton, Duane Robinson, Elton, 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, one son, Duane "Duke" DeHart, a grandson, Mark Taylor, four sisters, Ardith Gilliam, Geneva Powell, Barbara Valentine, Florence Robinson, 2 brothers, Bill & Orvil Robinson.

Services will be held on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Omer Kelley officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at the Elton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday one hour prior to services all at the funeral home.
