Raymond Wickkiser, of Kempster, died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at his home in the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 80years old He was born Wednesday, August 22, 1928 in Wilkes-Barre, Penn, Son of the late John Albert and Nellie ( Lyons) Wickkiser..
He married Lorraine Vzioba who preceded him in death in 1968,
He married Dorothy Rose Wickman Casson on Jan 1, 1970 at St. John Lutheran Church in Mattoon. She survives

He served in the U. S. Navy aboard a distroyer during WWll and received the WWll Victory Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campagin Metal..
He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Deerbrook For 20 years Mr. Wickkiser worked in Milwaukee as a machinist. In 1968 he moved to Mattoon where he owned and operated a dairy farm for 24 year. He retried in 1988 and moved to Kempster. He is a member of Leland Tollefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2653 , Antigo, WI, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 23, Antigo, and enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.

Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 daughters, Linda (Vince) Bobot, Milwaukee, Nancy Wickkiser, Madison, Mary Lou Wickkiser, Deerbrook, a son, Raymond Wickkiser, Antigo, two step daughters Rosemarie ( Daniel) Fandrey, Birnamwood, Debra (Tom) Kessen, Birnamwood and a step son Kenneth (Kim) Casson Bowler, 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren .

He was preceded in death by parents, first wife, Lorraine, two sons John while serving in the U. S. Navy and Joseph Wickkiser, a sister Ethel and four brothers Wilson, Russell, Clifford and Edward Wickkiser.
Memorial Services will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, February 16, 2009 Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerome Hahn officiating.
Visitation will be February 16, 2009 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church .
A celebration of his life and Military Honors will be held at a later date.
