Sarah DeHart Messer
April 27, 1913 - March 17, 2009

Sarah DeHart Messer, of Antigo, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. She was 95 years old. Born April 27, 1913 in Shawano County to Jewett and Laura (Thompson) Johnson. She married John Lee DeHart in 1930, he preceded her in death 1969. She married Al Dahse in 1972, he preceded her in death in 1974. In 1978 she married Arlie Messer, he preceded her in death in 1981.

She was employed doing laundry for Camp Blackhawk Girl Scout camp in Elton. Mrs. Messer loved to crochet and sew, having sewn many dresses by hand. She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and having her extended family and friends in her home ready to make them all feel welcome.

Survivors include seven daughters, Audrey (Ken) Moats, Greencastle, Penn., Doris DeHart, Antigo, Marjorie Waddell, Manitowoc, Betty (Richard) Manthy, Salem, Florence (Darrell) Lewis, Argonne, Bertha (Bob) Smith, Sturgeon Bay, Cathy Randel and special friend Dan Matson, Antigo, three sons, Jewett (Dolores) DeHart, Appleton, Gerald DeHart, Antigo, John (Charlene) DeHart, White Lake, one daughter-in-law, Bernadine DeHart, Antigo, one sister in law Mary Boyd, White Lake, 30 grandchildren, 59 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. Also survived by numerous extended family members.

She was preceded in death by one daughter Lorraine Kinnu, one son George DeHart, one grandson Danny DeHart, three sons in law Emmert Gordon, John Waddell and Robert Kinnu, two daughters in law Joyce and Bev DeHart, three sisters and two brothers and a special friend Ted Boyd.

Services will be held on Friday March 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Four Corners Assembly of God Chruch, White Lake, with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place in Bent Cemetery in spring. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home and on Friday at the church from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
