Dale Brush
January 7, 1917 - March 26, 2009

Dale Brush, of Summit Lake, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Eastview Medical & Rehabilitation Center. He was 92 years old. He was born January 7, 1917 in Antigo, to Frances and Eleanor (Hopkins) Brush. He married Irene Thompson on Jan. 24, 1942, she preceded him in death in 1994. He married Rita (Lacoque) Remington on Sept. 27, 1995. She survives.

He graduated from Antigo High School in 1935 and attended college in LaCrosse and University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Mr. Brush served in the United States Army from 1942 - 1945. He worked for Chicago & Northwestern Railroad for 36 years retiring in 1977. With his wife Irene he owned and operated Brush Studio in Antigo for many years. He was a member of the TCU Transportation Union, the Leland-Tollefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2653 in Antigo, the Noetzelman-Boodry American Legion Post #377 in Elcho and the Langlade County Voiture 1204 40 et 8. He was a great story teller and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Rita one daughter, Jane (Tony) Kielcheski, Antigo, one son, James Brush, Glenwood, NM, four grandchildren, Holli Kielcheski and fiancee Ken Bastle and his children Brandon and Brittney, Edward (Leslie) Brush, Bill Brush, and Kami (Eric) Nicholson and their children Danny, Hunter and Presley, also survived by his wife Rita's children; Candi Jansen, Lake Elsinore, CA, Ron (Elaine) Hull, Portage, Lori (Kurt) Resch, Antigo, and their 12 children and many grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by by his first wife Irene, one brother Lauren, two sisters Dorothy Kacer, and Marion Scullin.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Jack LaMar officiating. Burial will take place in Summit Lake Lakeside Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Antigo and Elcho Veterans will conduct Military rites at the funeral home following services.
