April 10, 1929 - June 15, 2009

Funeral services for Mr. Norman Reed Maynard, age 80, of Livingston will be at 12 noon, Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. Kerry Duke officiating. Burial will be in Overton County Memorial Gardens where there will be a military service performed by the Honor Guard from the James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062 with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until services at 12 noon on Wednesday.Mr. Maynard died June 15, 2009 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born April 10, 1929 in Putnam County to the late Dan Houston and Clarice Whitehead Maynard. He was a veteran and retired from the U.S. Air Force during both the Korean Conflict and Viet Nam Era. He also worked in construction after his service retirement.He was a member of the West End Church of Christ. He loved hunting and fishing with his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Ruth Maynard of Livingston; daughter son-in-law, Stephanie Scott Gastley of Mt. Juliet, TN; 3 grandchildren, Joshua, Hannah, Ryan Gastley; 3 sisters, Geraldean Phillips and Elizabeth Ward, both of Cookeville and Margaret Truan of Texas; and a brother, Eulas Maynard of Lebanon, TN.He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael Reed Maynard, and several brothers sisters.Pallbearers to serve are Randell Phillips, Kelly Hill, Joey Hill, Rellon Phillips, Tony Hill, Kent Terry.
