David Henry Baseley of San Jose, CA died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Palo Alto VA Hospice, CA, after a long illness with his wife and brother Gary Baseley present. He was 55 years old. He was born January 2, 1954 in Antigo, WI to Rosalba J. Baseley and the late Alvin G. Baseley.

He was baptized a Methodist and raised in Antigo until he was 7 when his family moved to Libertyville, IL. He attended and graduated from Libertyville High School in 1972 . He served in US Army as a helicopter simulator trainer from 1974-1978. He was employed at Hewlett Packard in Cupertino, CA. for 20 years as a traffic controller. He was known as a hard working, kind, and honorable man. He was a loving husband, son, brother and uncle.

Survivors include his wife Gina F. Baseley (Flamiano) of San Jose, CA; his mother Rosalba J. Baseley (Drage), of Madison, WI; two sisters, Faye Stevens (Michael), of Libertyville, IL, and Janet Thurman (Jerry), of West Bend, WI; two brothers, Wayne Baseley, of Madison, WI, and Gary Baseley, of San Jose, CA; two nieces, Jennifer Lawson (Halter), of Virginia Beach, VA, and Stephanie Jones (Stevens), of Antioch, IL; three nephews, Raymond Stevens, of Charlotte, NC, Jeremy Halter, of Dayton, OH, and Lt Jacob Garcia USAF, of Midwest City, OK; three grandnephews and three grandnieces, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2005.

Thanks are given to the doctors and hospice team at the Palo Alto facility, many friends, co-workers , and family who supported them through his last months.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home, 1550 Neva Road in Antigo, WI. Graveside services with Rev. Charles Strong, officiating at Neva Town Cemetery . The Antigo Veterans will provide Military rites.
